T. MICHAEL KILBURY
email Michael Kilbury
Michael Kilbury's key attributes:
- Adept at anticipating and explaining the wrong turns a claim can take
- Very facile with medical information
- Balances legal and practical considerations
T. Michael Kilbury has been working with Larry Peterson since 1982. Over the past sixteen years, Mike has witnessed workers' compensation claims evolving into a range of employment issues such as unemployment, Minnesota Human Rights Act, ADA, ADEA, and Hostile Workplace Discrimination Claims. Union contract and grievance issues pose additional complicating questions. Mike is interested in these interrelated legal practice areas. Mike understands that workers' compensation claims cannot be addressed and resolved in isolation. Mike's knowledge of the interplay of various regulations and the workplace contributes to his clients' success and profit. Mike advocates resolving conflicts and establishing workplace policy consistent with legal requirements, while reserving management's flexibility to respond to business needs.
Advice from Mike to most clients about litigation: "The inside of a courtroom is a place like no other. There's nowhere else I'd rather be, but for you, as my client, it is a place to avoid."
Mike is a 1975 graduate of University of Minnesota, and a 1984 graduate of William Mitchell College of law. Between college and law school he made a six-year foray into the bar/restaurant/housing management industry.
He is an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law teaching workers compensation law and is admitted to practice before all state courts in Minnesota and Wisconsin and the Federal courts of the State of Minnesota.
